Expired refrigerated chicken meat - advise required.

Is it good to cook/eat an chicken meat (fresh meat from tesco) which is expired just 10 hours or 1 day from the expiry date.

I mean sometimes we tend to forget the meat in refrigerator .

I am sure they would have a properly verified safety margin just to minimise the risk of their being sued for poisoning.

These dates are calculated by lawyers not cooks and are ... how can I put this kindly? ... a bit over-cautious. Unopened, refrigerated and just 1 day over the date, it should still be fine.
If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5? :)

With chicken open it and if it smells bad then bin it. One day past the date I personally would cook it as long as it had been refrigerated properly, the only chicken I've ever binned was bad 4 days before the use by.
