I saw this yesterday and am tempted to buy. My cheaper alternative was to buy a GPS receiver and use bluetooth to connect to my fone as I have some software already.
Not sure if it will anygood, it might be slow at updating. Anyone tried this method before?

Don't spend five pounds to dry clean a shirt. Donate it to the charity shop instead. They'll clean it and put it on a hanger. Next morning buy it back for two pounds.

rang 2 asda stores and visited one this morning. the two i called said they dont have that offer on there system. the one i visited had a staff member who was nice enough to show me there stock pricing changes of the day on 'the gun' which has all the days reductions to be made on it and the tomtom wasnt on it.
one other the lady said was that these offers vary from store to store! - WHY?! (surely if its newly packed - pristine they should be the same price at all stores)
Anyway so this is all a wild goose chase im afraid!
if you are going to asda to bring home the weeks groceries its worth asking in store - otherwise i wont bother!0 -
The price for this as been reduced BY!! £99 TO £179 so not such a bargin after all .0

I have TomTom mobile 5.2 and the latest V660 maps that work with v5 software running on my Spv C500 which is a Windows Smartphone and it does not seem any slower than My PPC..well pleased with it..

The OP on HotUKDeals has just added this to the deal.....

'so sorry everyone, went in store to collect mine this am and was asked whether i was many that had called up about an internet deal. in which case the reduction was from £279 to £179 a reduction of £99.01 (to which I said, no that was a reduction of £100). either way, they're not honouring the deal for me. really peeved and, to add insult to injury, was 15 minutes late into the office as a result. feel bad now for raising hopes when in fact this was a red herring. sorry all'.0 -

thanks Dave. I have a SE K800i. Looks like those SirfIII are the best ones so will buy a GPS receiver that has that. Cheaper than buying dedicated. Only need it now and again really.:hello:

And why's that then?
well its not exactly rocket science is it......
Sat navs are a relatively new technology so will always start out expensive and get cheaper over time.
Just look at LCD TVs today. If i told you two years ago you could pick up a 32" Toshiba LCD TV today for less than £600 you'd have thought i was mad as a hatter....
Again, DVD players - who would have thought 5 year ago you could pick up a dvd player for £20 in Tescos??
In 18 months time you'll be buying Sat Navs for £50.0 -
Did anyone get one at this price?0
