Sainsburys and Halifax are they linked?

I'm trying to work out if having a savings account with Sainsburys bank would mean Halifax could take money out of it to offset an account with them. We are entering into a DMP and Halifax is one of the creditors and I just want to ensure any money in Sainsburys is safe.
Thank you

Well according to Sainsbury's Bank here the bank is between Sainsbury's and Lloyds Banking group and they say here that the Halifax is part of them. So I think they are.
When we were on a DMP and one of the creditors was the Halifax our Sainsbury's Bank account was just closed - it was empty so no loss to us.Proud to have dealt with my debts, became debt free on 03/11/2011. Repaid £54,723.41 LBM May 2006.
