Do the ferry and get off at Seacombe Ferry have a walk or bus along to New Brighton really has improved over the past few years. The Cavern is on the cards im sure . Saturday Night or Sunday afternoon are my favorites . I like the cave dwellers (resident cavern band on a sat night) good tunes and open mic/band too . There are lots of gig guides on the internet to follow what you want to listen too . Taste depending there is always something to suit some free some not so .

Get the bus or train to waterloo, walk down to the beach and walk along the coast path to visit the Iron men statues on Crosby beach.Theres also a coast walk from there all the way to the red squirrel reserve at Formby.(not sure if you need National Trust pass for that).
