logbook loan

My daughter has taken out a log book loan she can't afford. despite talking to them the debt has gone up from £2500 to £4600 in 2 months. She has tried to take an overdose because of the debt and if she loses her car she loses her job. Can someone please advise me.

Can you get a loan to pay off the debt?

Who is the logbook loan with?
  • Loans 2 go.

I would love to help her out but I can't get a loan for that much
  • the woman at the office has been really helpful and she tried to freeze everything but her line manager has over-ridden her. because no repayments have been made in the last 6 weeks its shot up to that amount

Can she sell the car and use that to partially pay off the loan? Could she use public transport for her job? What's her financial position that she can't make any payments - does she have anything she can cut back on?

Prudence - get your daughter to contact Stepchange (a debt charity) as soon as possible: http://www.stepchange.org/Debtinformationandadvice/Typesofdebt/Logbookloandebt.aspx

Their advice is free and they can help your daughter to deal with this. They have helped me in the past and are very friendly and reassuring.

    Best wishes. x
