Exam invigilators job advert time.

Just a quick post - wasn't sure if it was best here or employment board but thought it best here due to nature of the hours and unpredictability.

It's normally this time of year schools and colleges advertise for exam invigilators. If people are looking for short term work in school hours then its worth checking your local schools/colleges and council websites. Most are flexible and you chose your days in advance and will pay between 7.50 and £10 per hour.

It's a good way to top up the income if this kind of work suits you.

  • I have an interview for this week after next. Very nervous as not had a job outside the home for over 17 years, but I hope the fact I got to interview stage is a good sign! I have worked from home for over 7 years, but ready for a change.

I wish our schools paid that well - exam invigilator jobs are just starting to be advertised in my county at £6.75-£6.95 an hour!
Bearing in mind the short, sporadic hours and the travelling needed it is hardly worth it for me unfortunately!
For those lucky people getting £10 per hour it's well worth it as I assume each session would be at least 2-3 hours.

Same here. I have done this for a few years in a local Girls Grammar and get the minimum wage but my son's school pays £10 ph. Once he has left if I still want to do it, I'm going to ask there.
