Do I qualify for a refund on my VW lease?

I have a Golf on on a lease agreement through VW. I am swapping for a Polo. I have been given a quote via email and my monthly payments on the new lease will be a lot lower as a result. I've only just agreed on a price with the dealer. Nothing has been signed yet. My next monthly direct debit for the Golf is payable next Wednesday. The car I am getting is a model and colour that is likely to be available very soon. Is it standard practice to get a refund for the difference in the monthly payment? In theory I could only have the golf for another few days - perhaps up to 2 weeks maximum. I am going to the dealership later to sign the agreement etc later and I will ask then but it would be useful to know other people's thoughts on this.

Thanks

  • You might get a pro rata refund or you might not - what does your lease agreement say about this?
    I don't have a copy so can't comment further.

I think more important tah. A small refund is what is the actual money situation with the two cars, how much do you owe or equity do you have in the golf, how is the deposit being funded for the polo, is there a balloon payments etc
