Loan credit check

Applied for sainsburys loan sole application, i have just checked with my wife and they have checked not only my credit file but also hers is this right are they allowed to do this as i was the only name on the apllication, this now leaves a mark on her file.

You must be financially associated, joint mortgage?

It is correct that you are now both searched if you have any joint accounts. Anything negative on one file will affect the other

Firstly, the T&Cs and specifically their privacy policy allow them to do this. And you agreed (on your wife's behalf) they could when you clicked "submit".


Secondly, don't get hung up on her financial associate search, because that's only visible to herself and the CRA, ie no other lender will ever see it.
