So I woke up all pumped to pay off my chunk!
Tried via Internet banking (whilst pouring cornflakes for 2 hungry school children!) but forgot the 10k rule. So I rang (whilst pouring kibble for 2 hungry pooches!) and again failed the 10k rule. Was advised to drop into HSCB branch or do 3x 10k transfers (as I have 3 accounts with my bank:sole, savings and what was a joint a/c) for a few days.
So I razzed into town during my lunch break to the branch and was informed I'd need ID - which wasn't mentioned on the call earlier, oh and £20 charge
So I decided to do the 3x 10k transfers. Fine.
Oh wait, sorry you can only do 1, not 3 transfers of 10k.
But it's 3 different accounts and the man on the phone suggested this way?
Oh right. I'll check......Yes you can. I didn't know that.
Then decided to call FD to check they'd received the money into my FD current account. Yep, they'd received 10k. The other 20k was held for fraud checking!!! Arghhhhhhhhhh
Finally just checked & it's cleared so I've paid it off! Hoorah!
Really looking forward to doing it all again tomorrow. And Weds. And a bit of Thurs!Aiming to be MF by Jan 2019

Just popped in to say I'm subscribing to your diary and to say sorry for your loss.
I am a newbie to this board as well (spent years on the DFW board). There are loads of ideas on here and inspirational stories. Good luck xxDebt free and Keeping on Track0 -
So it's been a couple of weeks. In that time I've paid off 10k chunks of life insurance to avoid bank threshold and charge issues. I'm just waiting to pay the last few hundred quid which will bring the balance down to the start figure for the remaining mortgage. They haven't exactly rushed it through!
I've also been saving up the few quid to round down my bank balance each day, that has accrued a little o/p pot. Also spent loads less on food and have made extra portions for additional meals. Bit bored of chilli tonight, night 3!
Enjoying reading the tales of the MFW's!Aiming to be MF by Jan 2019

:hello: well firstly, i am truly sorry to hear of your loss....really brings it home. I am close in age with children of around the same age as yours and although my husband and I are straight talking about this kind of thing happening and have plans in place, you really don't expect it to happen.
Might I add, it is lovely to read of you making positive steps and focusing on future events. I will subscribe and pop in on you to see how you are doing.
Good luck with your mortgage plans...you are an inspiration x0
