Santander credit search 'first mortgage' question

Hi Folks,

We have been given a agreement in principle from Santander for a 95% mortgage on a 95k property.

I have read that there are 'soft' and 'hard' searches. Does the fact that ours has appeared as 'search type: First Mortgage' mean that we have had a hard search?

we are just trying to find out if there will be a further search or if they have seen all they need to in terms of the credit file?

The broker did say to my partner that it would have left a foot print if rejected so i assume it was a hard search.

If you get an agreement in principle from a hard search does that mean a better chance of the full application going through ok?

thanks guys - you know what its like getting a first mortgage. Constant questions and 'wonderings' lol.
