Does anyone know why a lender would go in and check company's house?

    If you are self employed they may want to see if you have or do own any other companies. They may want to check the figures you are giving them are correct - there are various reasons.

    I use it to check the incorporation dates of clients' businesses, so I can correctly enter employment commencement dates on applications.

    Lenders can also see accounts filing dates there too.
