I don`t know if this will help to put some minds at rest but I`ve just spent the best part of half an hour looking for my details on the Gazette site without any luck!!

Fair point Blind but what I know now may be hugely relevant to others. I merely state the facts of my own BR. Jock just punch the postcode you were living at at the time you petitioned into the search box here http://www.gazettes-online.co.uk/Notices.asp?webType=0&CategoryId=GC2503 It only covers the last 5 years or so when the service was set up online but it will be on there ad infinitum0

I have checked my home insurance and my car insurance and nowhere does it say I have to inform them of bankruptcy. Nor does any of the stuff from the OR say that I have a responsibility to do so either.
As far as I'm concerned my BR is on a 'need to know' basis and for now the insurance companies don't need to know, not until they ask.
I haven't yet had to renew these insurances but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. That's all any of us can do. Speculating and worrying doesn't help.0 -
If it isn't in the T & Cs then no need to worry0

How long after bankruptcy is it that your name appears in your local rag? I'm not to bothered about this but do expect a fair few questions from some of the nosey bints I work with.Sometimes you have to go throughthe rain to get to therainbow0

I don't know Claire. I looked for my name for about 4 weeks and never saw it so I gave up looking. And I'd even looked a couple of times for other BR announcements before I did the deed but never saw any names. So either I'm the only idiot :rotfl: in my area who went BR or they've got better stuff to print in our local rag. :j0

It's funny because 2 people I know who live in the same area have gone BR, one of them EVERYONE saw and asked lots of questions/chipped in with their 2 cents worth, the other one, nothing at all, even he's never seen it, and no one has ever asked him.
Isn't it strange?? It would be nice to know so that I can prepare for any nosy gets asking questions/chipping in with their (unasked for) opinion. But then if it might not be in at all so much the better!Sometimes you have to go throughthe rain to get to therainbow0 -
You tell any nosy parkers  that if they're asking about BR then perhaps they're thinking of doing it, in which case you can put them in touch with all the right people to help them through it. :rotfl:0

Hahaha AOAD, that's a good plan!
I just know that if it is in the local paper, that there is going to be at least a couple of people from where I work (I work in a hospital - lots of gossiping ladies!) asking questions ormaking sly underhanded comments.
I shall just tell them, in the nicest possible way(!) to !!!!!! off and mind their own business.Sometimes you have to go throughthe rain to get to therainbow0
