Temporary Job question

I am presently employed for 12 hours per week on a permanent basis. I am thinking of applying for a full-time job elsewhere with fantastic money BUT it is only temporary for 4 months with possibility of being extended. If I was lucky enough to get the job my dilemma is if I'm not kept on would I be able to claim JSA, or would they not allow it because I had previously given up a permanent contract? Thanks for any advice

If you spent 4 months in a new job and then your contract was not extended AND you hadn't found another job to move to straight away but were trying to find one, you would be eligible to register as unemployed and receive JSA (assuming that you have sufficient NI contributions etc).
"Permanent" contracts do not exist really, you can always be subject to being dismissed.0
