To put it this way, Jacqu79, have you ever eaten a ready meal that had chicken in it? Same thing ;) Chicken is fine to freeze and then reheat, as long as you heat it properly like all other food you would reheat. I do it all the time and am still alive :)

    I didn't think of that!:o

Thanks, my family will be happy they won't have curry two days in a row next week!:D
  • I use plastic tubs from pound land and then label with a post-it

My tip - keep a list! I divide mine into meat, fish, baked stuff, fruit, veg. I keep a typed paper list, then cross things off and add things as and when. Every so often, when it becomes really messy, I re-type it. Saves hours of wondering what might be in the freezer, and diving in only to find UFOs (Unidentified Frozen Objects ...). Also helps enormously when meal planning for the week.

No, I wasn't quite sure either, it's just some of the meals were classed as freezeable, and that one wasn't? I will just freeze it anyway x

I think the issue is that things with cream in can 'split'/curdle when reheated but I find the still taste OK. I never make a proper carbonara just stir soft cheese through the pasta but that's hardly worth freezing.

I often make Dauphinoise potatoes with crème fraiche and freeze. The only problem is it can go a bit dry so I pour on a bit of milk before reheating.

Like most others, I use plastic take away tubs but I write on them with a Sharpie permanent marker.

I found ordinary felt pens rubbed off after a while, the Sharpie doesn't. It comes off when you wash the tub in hot water, and if it's stubborn, one of those dense white foam "magic eraser" cleaning blocks takes it off.
