is this normal

to feel scared of just doing that final step and going bankrupt ?
Also if a debt was joint what happens to that others persons half or is it all wiped off ?

    It's entirely normal to feel scared/nervous/anxious about taking that final step, despite knowing that is the only sensible course of action in your circumstances.

    If one person goes bankrupt when in a joint debt then the entire joint debt is the sole liability of the non-BR person, so they will be chased for the whole payment by the creditor.

    well put, Pippa.....now you all know why I advise against joint accounts etc...we are all 'pushed' into them, yet we know not what the future might hold [despite best intentions?]....best avoided, is my advice, even if it is a bit of a 'downer?'
