Poor quality fresh food from Aldi

I started shopping at Aldi just before Christmas (new store opened) and I have been bitterly disappointed with their fresh food.
Things like pre packed tomatoes and strawberries being mouldy when opened, fresh food not lasting more than 2 or 3 days before being unuseable and no sell by or use by dates on any of the prepacked fresh foods.
So all in all despite the recent good press for Aldi I have found them less than impressive

That's a shame, that's really not my experience of Aldi at all. Have you given any feedback to the store manager? If I'd found mouldy fruit or veg it would go straight back!0

I used to shop in Aldi but after finding so called fresh fruit & veg going off a couple of days I've gone back to Asda.
Heard the same from quite a few people, who have also pointed out the quality across the board seems to have gone downhill recently. Its like as if now they have got the customers they don't feel the need to keep up the quality.0 -
i really rate aldi and like poster said if my fruit was moldy back it would go...i have never purchased any fresh stuff thats nasty and most of it is lovely
i suppose you could have been unlucky but if a shop doesnt suit you better not to flog a dead horse and go some where elseonwards and upwards0 -

Really can't be bothered taking them back, especially without a receipt to prove when I bought it (as there are no sell by/ use by dates on the fresh produce it may be pointless).
It's now occurred 3 times in 3 weeksso it's protest with my feet and back to Morrisons.0 -
Perhaps have a moan on their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/aldiukPosts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

I always keep my food receipts. If I'm unhappy with any product i say I want an exchange or a refund.0 -
I have seen several posts commenting similar and it's a great shame as the fruit and veg offers are one of their main selling points.
It's not my experience though, I have never bought anything that is mouldy or going off. I buy a lot of fruit and veg for my parrot and it's very important that it's not got mould or bacteria on it as that would kill him so I am very fussy about quality.
I do think that it's important that stores that are constantly supplying inferior goods are complained to. If no one complains then nothing will change.
I placed an order with Asda click and collect and the pack of green grapes selected were brown within 24 hours. I complained and the item was refunded.0 -
I'm a new aldi shopper but found their fruit and veg tastes awful. Really bland, no flavour. Find staff a bit stroppy too but that might be the branch I use.0

Aldi have a weird use by date system. Look at the veg. There is a 4 digit number. The first one is the week number of the year so it should be 06 it 07 and the other two numbers is the day of the week. But I don't know what day of the week their week starts. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

With their Super six offers lasting several weeks, must be nightmare to keep stocked up..
Lidl half price weekend is better, when it's gone it's gone, downside being getting there early.0
