Hi everyone, im a naive 23 year old just finishing a butchery apprenticeship.
I have decided i dont want to work for anybody anymore and think i am best suited to workingg for myself.
One of the things i have realised is that i can make top quality burgers and sausages, and they really are magnificent for very little. Like 20p per sausage if that.
I have a location on private land in mind. Its somewhere that has hundreds of customers a day and has its own car park. I know the owner of this place and they would be interested in having a burger van in their car park.
On average people will pay 3-4 quid for a burger or sausage baguette right?
So i think that if i could find a small unit, would only have to be tiny to make these in, and get myself a burger van set up in this location then im away?
I think my boss would let me use the shop out of hours at the moment if i covere the costs to start with so effectively the small unit could come 12 months or so after opening the van its self?
Obviously i have absolutely no idea about running a business and what this would entail but if anyone could give me any advice on what i would need to do to make this happen, and weather it would be worth doing due to licensing and rules and regulations etc. dont know if im being totally unrealistic or not?
And advice greatly appreciated
Thanks

What area are you from? Do you have a vehicle to tow it? Do you have a trailer licence?0

Your idea of starting up a business is very nice. I have here some tips hope it can help. First you need to know what you are doing and your target.
What will the business do?
Where can it operate?
Will I need premises?
Do I need people to make it happen, or will I be flying solo for some time?
Can I fund the business myself, or do I need financial support?
How long will it take to get the business into profit?
Have I got what it takes to make it work?
The next thing to do is turn your idea into a business.
1. Research, research, research!
2. Don’t be afraid to make changes and take your idea back to the drawing board.
3. Write up a business plan.
4. Find partners and suppliers
Of course, this is not all but this could be a start.0 -

Yes i do have premises and no i wouldnt need anybody else really unless it took off really busy straight away.
I would need financial support though
.
And i would be my own supplier for the van. I know where i can get the butchery supplies from so theres ho probs there
.
I wouldn't know where to start with writing up a business plan though x0
