Google Nexus Tablet

Can anyone recommend someone who can repair a Google Nexus Tablet in the Ballyclare / Newtownabbey area.

It briefly switches on then stops charging. I have tried the various fixes /resets on Google.

We got it for the kids from the Argos Ebay Outlet store from "Santa".

They don't do repairs only refunds. And that's only if they say it wasn't our fault. So guess what I think they are bound to say!!

Thanks.

Could well be the USB charger cable supplied. Mine seemed to fail within 6 months and when I googled the problem I saw a lot of comments on the USB socket becoming loose. However I tried the cable from my samsung phone and it charges OK - as does any other mini usb cable I have. I tried the Nexus supplied charger cable with other hardware and have found it does not work on any of them - I have binned it.

Sounds like either charger or the wee connector in the machine itself.

I dont think argos will be terribly interested in deciding whos fault it is - unless its clearly obvious damage like a broken screen - so i'd be sending it back and getting a refund, if a new charger doesnt solve it

It wasn't the charger Motorguy. I bought two of these tablets at Christmas. One still charges using either charger.

A few people have suggested that because the charger cable supplied is so short that can lead to the USB port on the tablet getting bent!

I have sent if back for a refund Irishjohn, I will let you know what happens.

    Sorry Almillar?

I'm not the sort of person who would return a product they had broken themselves for a refund.

Before going to the expense and hassle of returning it I took it to a computer repair company to see if they could diagnose the fault.

They couldn't but told me this is one of the faults that occurs. Google it!

Yes, if its not the charger, then as per my previous post, i'd fully expect argos to replace or refund

Well I don't want to accuse you of anything but from your explanation, you seem to say that the micro USB plug can damage the socket if the user tugs on it due to the cable being short. That's a bad design, but IF this is what happened, yes you did break it...
