Whats the Best Washer Dryer to go for please ....

Hi
I was in the same situation - my washer broke and decided on a washer dryer, after searching and searching to find the best one I got a bosch washer dryer. There is a website - not sure what it's called now but it's on one of these forums - washer man - i think, anyway he recommended a bosch, also the guy who used to fix our old washer recommended a bosch too.

Looked around for several deals and the best I could find was from Kitchen science - free delivery - quidco (i think) and a 5% off code somewhere. But I was a little wary as the reviews weren't great. So I rang a comet and asked them to match asdas price of £379 and they would after much negotiatiing but wouldn't budge on free delivery - so I declined. Then I rang Dixons and said outright that I would like the bosch washer dryer priced for £379 and free delivery and they agreed!!! Think this could be the best price -
ordered on a thursday and delivered on a tuesday - very happy with the service and the machine is good too (so far) 0hh also 2 year gaurantee with bosch!!

Hope this helps

We finally got rid of our Hotpoint washer/dryer last year after numerous break-downs. On recommendation of people on here we got a Bosch instead and it is brilliant. We got it at a bargain price too. It is well made, quieter and quicker. Oh, and it hasn't broken down once so far!

Check Which! in your local library - the last time I did the Zanussi and AEG which was pricey but we went with it in the end. Seems OK though the Zanussi was higher rated on wash.

PS it replaced a 19 yo Hoover which had one minor repair and not even the door seal replaced.

At the end of the day you cannot beat a Miele! I have recently replaced all my laundry equipment with it and will never look back. Awesome products built like tanks and will last 4 or 5 times as long as anything else around. Expensive-yes but you get quality for your hard earned and it will work out cheaper in the long run. Oh and they have free extended warrantys for 5 and 10 yrs right now! Beauty.

    Primum non noce!
  • I was advised never to buy a washer dryer. The dryer has to work twice as hard because it needs to dry the water from the washer before starting on your clothes. So, I gather it's not economical or enviromentally friendly.

If you have room buy separates. Bought Hotpoint washer drier but still use the old tumbler out in the garage. Bosch / Hotpoint. same machine different cover. many posts on forums about this.

I hated having a washer drier and would never have one again. that said I only had it because I didn't have any space for 2 machines (galley kitchen). Anyway what I'd watch out for if I had to have it again is a good big drum size. anything that came out of the drier was all crinkled which to me missed the whole point of having a drier. This was because there wasn't room for it to spread out a bit.

I'm a miele fan too by the way. In a which survey miele came top and bosch came second (though was quite a bit cheaper)

HTH, I know how confusing it all is, that's why I went for a good one, I couldn't cope with the thought of having to do it all again for another 20 years or so...
