Best REAR bike light

I use a front and rear set of these (this is just the rear):
http://www.decathlon.co.uk/black-vioo-usb-rear-bike-light-id_8224154.html
USB chargeable, and have a handy little warning light so you know when they're running low on juice.
I also have a front and rear set from Edinburgh bike co-op, but sadly I don't think the set I have is available any more! But it's a 'bar' type, like this:

I have one on flashing and one on steady, front and rear, as others have said, and mount the decathlon rear down by my wheel. It's a very bright little light, a couple of my friends bought that set after they'd seen mine this winter.Mortgage - £[STRIKE]68,000 may 2014[/STRIKE] 45,680.0 -
Oops. Forgot to update.:o
I bought 4 of these:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/MetroFlash-Danger-Zone-Tail-Light/dp/B00AOZHW3O/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1436085932&sr=8-1&keywords=metroflash
Very good lights. Decent build and very bright.
But then a few weeks late I came across a deal on HUKD possibly from DX.com where they were selling these similar lights for £1.70ish delivered:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Jinhoo-Danger-Bicycle-Warning-Flashlight/dp/B00VTEVOT2/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&qid=1436085880&sr=8-11&keywords=rear+cycle+light
So I bought 4, one light for constant, one on flash. The cheap version are cheap, very plasticy and the clip around the lens is flimsy and feels as thought it will break. Luckily you don't need to change batteries too often so not a problem. In a test on the bike in the dark with the Metroflash and the Cheap Chinese Variant, new batteries in both and standing 100m away the CCV is definitely brighter by 30%.The man without a signature.0 -

All just copies of the R2

On rear I've got a Cateye TL-LD1100. Very bright. Lots of combinations as 2 rows of LEDS. Could have one row flashing and the other static. Takes 2 rechargeable AA batteries that last for months.
Also have Busch & Muller dynamo Toplight flat plus on rear. Bright constant LED with massive reflectors.
Off thread but I have a Cateye HL-EL625RC on front. Very bright but needs USB charging before every journey. Also Busch & Muller dynamo IQ Cyo on front. Quite bright. Maintenance free. 100% reliable.0 -

2 x 1/2 Watt LEDs
These are what I use and have to say they are fantastic for the price.
Extremely bright, easy to operate, good battery power.0 -
I use a Moon Shield which can throw out 60 lumen, though because it is so bright I tend to use it on a lower setting. The flash setting is good for daylight use. I have a number of people comment and ask me about the light due to the brightness.
Only downside is it requires regular recharging as the battery life is not the best.0 -

Very nice, but £79.99 each!
We only really leisure ride on paths, coasts etc and try to avoid roads so this might be overkill - especially if I need four of them!
We don't often ride after dusk, but I want to be prepared for any unforeseen event which means we have to.The man without a signature.0 -
I went for a Cateye Rapid 3 on the rear of mines.
3 modes depending on how bright you want it.
The middle LED in the rear is very bright. Enough to project a red light on a wall about 10ft behind the bike.
Uses a single AA battery as well.
They do this one as well which may be a little brighter depending on the flashing / fixed mode you choose, but the 2 x AAA batteries put me off.

I've got one of those on the front of my bike and the BundM Topight Line Plus mentioned upthread on the back. Both very good bits of kit. For a dynamo at the top end of the market you've got the Scmidt SON range (very well established and proven longlasting, performance), Shimano (not as good performance wise but a lot cheaper) or somewhere in the middle price wise (& what I went for) Shutter Precision (performance approaching the SON for a lot less money, but not yet established a reputation for durability). This article gives a detailed rundown of options - it's 2.5 years old but I'm not aware of the market changing that much in the interim.I am not a financial advisor or other expert.
