Reliability of mysupermarket.co.uk

Just had a look on mysupermarket.co.uk and it has swedes listed as 49p each in Aldi however i got one at 89p today. The 49p was last week when it was on the Super 6 offer. Anyone else find it can be unreliable?

  • Because Aldi doesn't have a online presence the prices are done by people going in to the stores so they can be behind.
It's mentioned on the site and in the blog when Aldi was first added.

ASDA Price Guarantee (managed by MySupermarket) Ts&Cs also say

"mySupermarket independently collect prices (except Morrisons) from daily web scans of the Tesco, Sainsbury's, Waitrose and ASDA grocery home shopping sites.

Morrisons prices are collected in-store (by an independent agency) twice a week (Monday and Wednesday), and therefore unlike Tesco, Sainsbury's and Waitrose, are only updated twice per week (Wednesday and Friday respectively). This means that Morrisons prices checked may be up to 7 days old. Morrisons prices are collected in a representative sample of stores each week around Great Britain."

Cannot say I have EVER used Mysupermarket nor am I likely to. If its not in the Grabbit forum or on Hotuk, its a deal I am likely not to come across. ;)

You can't always rely on MS, I've found deals that were online and not in store a few times, but it's useful to get an idea of prices

I noticed an error on Thursday. They listed a decent offer on branded pasta for Morrison's. As it's only 5 mins from my front door I thought I'd stock up the larder, and took a stroll with an empty back pack to load up. No such offer in the store though.

it happened to me with Sains a few weeks ago - I got an email alert for an offer for an item, checked it on Sains own site then went to store only to find the offers started the next day. I emailed Sains to ask why they advertised an offer before it started and they said that the don't offer a same day delivery so offers were on for future delivery day, so I emailed back to suggest they have a start and end date on their site going forwards.
