Competition win with travel expenses included question

So I recently won a comp and they said travel expenses were included . They emailed and said they would pay for my train faire however if I choose to go by car they would offer me £200 towards my travel expenses..
So how does this work. Do they normally send me a cheque before my holiday to pay for travel or do i claim the money back with proof of petrol or train ticket costs.
Can anymore shine a light in how travel expenses in completion wins are payed out??

Well done. My Daughter had to provide receipts after paying out for petrol.

I'm not sure who you've won with, but my VisitScotland competition wins involved me sending in receipts after I had been.
I was reimbursed within a couple of weeks.

Have a fantastic time and well done :)

  • When I won with Womans Own they sent me a cheque before hand for £100 to cover my travel. I guess it depends who the company is. Well done on your win and have a fab time :j:j

Well done on your win, I have had three expenses and each one was sent before the event.

They were - Carte Noire London trip paid into our bank
    - Times French trip cheque sent beforehand
    - Channel 4 Ascot in June already had the cheque.

Good luck hope you get paid beforehand.

Mine included train travel and they asked what times we would like to travel and bought the tickets and sent them.
  • I won a trip with Asda and they gave me the option of them booking my train or sending me a cheque for £150 before the trip.
