  • Afternoon all

Sorry I've missed a couple of weeks but £5.65 counted since the last update making a total of £13.88
    LBM July 2006 debt 1st August 2006
  • I used to work for a bank (hangs head in shame!). The most complicated it got on a daily basis was calculating interest on a daily rate and loan to value calcs for mortgages. Honestly, nowdays its very very simple maths! They give you all the tools anyways on their computers!

Banking is all about sales. Horrible pressurised (sp) sales and thats the reason I left. I got to the point I couldnt sleep because I was forced into selling credit cards and current accounts to old dears who I agree never needed one. I 'had' to show them they needed one or get sacked.

Also, everyone I worked with was upto their eyeballs in debt! Honestly, because its 'cheap' and they take the repayments direct from your wages most people where mortgage and personal loaned upto the hilt. Dont expect anyone to work at the bank to actually practice what they preach!

(this is my experience I expect others may be different)
    Starting debt @ LBM: £8436.51 (8/5/7)

Even worse this week, I'm on a training course and only saved up £1.84 - because they've been providing lunch (which is obviously good), so I'm saving on my outgoings. Not great for the savings though!! :o

Can I join you? Gathered up all the change in my house/ coats/ bags/ office etc - grand total of £6.05 :) I think I'll start by aiming for the £75 one by Christmas

    :)
  • I'll join in with the £75 challenge for Xmas!!! Think I've got about £7 so far, but that's just with 1s, 2s, and 5s. I'm sure it will increase with adding 10s and 20s!
Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!
  • 1.52 for me from this week...so much for telling myself I would not need to spend a penny - and newsagents had no pound coins so gave me £5 and 50ps and the rest 10p or less!!!!!!!! he must know im collecting the pennies!! hehe

  • Just a bit of fun - what shapes and sizes does your 'change' jar come in?

I've got a 3L Jack Daniel bottle given to me by my gf's brother. A year or so ago i had it not even 1/5 full of 20 pences and it amounted to over £60!

A little plastic box that once held business cards. I empty it once a month.Seem to be making very slow progress in this challenge. Must be all the no spend days I keep having - just have to remind myself that this is also good money saving. But it does make me happy adding to my change pot, how sad am I?
