Wedding Fairs- are they worth it?

  • I went to one at our venue in October (we'd booked it before we went to the wedding fair) and my mum is going to one at a hotel near their house this weekend. As others have said they're good ways to get a rough idea of prices and what's out there - I think my mum found the stationery stalls useful as she has very kindly offered to make our stationery so it was good to get some ideas.

The one thing I would say is be cautious about signing up for anything as you will get absolutely bombarded with emails. We didn't notice a huge amount of discounting either but then we weren't looking to purchase on the day.

I went on a Saturday big mistake!! You couldn't get anywhere near most of the stands to have a look, women just charged at you like playing a rugby match! Maybe it's me because I don't like really busy places :)

We went on Saturday too - I didn't think it was that bad but I am generally antisocial so get used to the fact that I hate everything like that. I do remember getting elbowed out the way a lot but figured they were obviously out to shark out a bargain whereas I had pretty much just gone to mooch around! Think me and my Mum spent the first hour and half in the cafe whilst it was quiet lol x
