So apparently we will be getting notice in our wages this Friday that the hours change on Monday. Can they actually do this with no notice?

that doesnt make sense you say they are giving you notice friday that it changes on monday then saying you get no notice.
what does your contract say?
how dramatically are they changing things?
how long have you worked there?
is it within a regular pattern or is a one of for a week or so to cover leave etc?
how many employees does your company have?
has there been any consultation?
is it just your hours or a whole team or companies?
is it set hours eg you used to work 9am-5pm and now you will work 3pm - 11pm or is it more you have to be available to work any hours between 6am and 11pm?
are the change in hours going to affect the availability of overtime or increased rates for later/ earlier hours?
you can refuse a change to your term and conditions in writing but it depends on how much fuss you want to make and how much its really going to change. The only people I have to answer to are my beautiful babies aged 8 and 50 -

You have been there less than two years, and you know your employer all too well - you have posted enough about them on here! So unless you intend to be unemployed by Tuesday, then the answer would be yes - because anyone wanting to keep their job will be doing as they are told. Even if you could stop them, you only can only do so from a secure position, and you haven't got one.0 -

Well they just have, hours changed to do with the cost of electricity, several people complained due to childcare issues etc, didn't matter a damn, like it or lump it. I had a similar things happen in my last job, the difference being we were told 4-5 weeks in advance, and even better was we got a choice, they went around and asked people if they were for it or against it.0
