baking powder shortage??
Hi all,
Has anyone else been struggling over last couple of weeks to find tubs of baking powder?? I'm in surrey and been in to Sainsbury's and Waitrose (of course - being in Surrey....) and only do the little sachets and say stock unavailable for the tubs. spoke to another customer today who said she's noticed same thing.
This really isn't a crisis - I can survive.
Just puzzled me and wonder if anyone else noticed/ bothered/ think I should spend my time worrying about more important things...;)

I work and do most of my shopping in Surrey (Sainsbury and Morrisons usually) - I recently had baking powder on my list but didn't have any problem getting it as there was stock in the first supermarket I went to. I have noticed the little packets on sale as well, but usually alongside the tubs.Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0

I'm not sure about recently as I have plenty of baking powder, but this has happened in the past-perhaps last year or the year before, hence why I stocked up as soon as everywhere got the tubs back in. Most baking powder is fairly long dated so one of the tubs is still in date now xx0

Lots of baking powder in Aldi and at 69p for 160g it is a bargain and last week it was even cheaper at half price.0

I'm wondering if this has trigger the short supply as I bought some myself on offer the other week. (I was struggling to make my shopping up to the required £40Lots of baking powder in Aldi and at 69p for 160g it is a bargain and last week it was even cheaper at half price.
). This could have had a knock on impact on the supplies in other stores, it happens for pharmaceuticals all the time. Surrey may have a higher proportion of people that can afford to stay at home and bake.
But in this case, it woz The Mirror wot did it!Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!
