Hush Puppies from Brantano

Options
Hello all

I'm just writing to ask some advice.

I have bought some Hush Puppies from Brantano, April last year, and the bottom of the shoes have already worn through!

I have complained in store to Brantano and they said that they only cover the shoes for 6 months, and they didn't offer any compensation for the shoes.

I think it is ridiculous that shoes can wear this quickly as I have had another pair of boots for years and they still look quite new.

Do I have any rights here?

Thanks in advance.

  • I buy shoes that last 3/4 months that cost considerably more than a pair of hush puppies, a year for a pair of hush puppies I think you have got your money's worth unless there is an inherent fault with them

    Thanks for your reply.

The heal design is bad as it is hollow.

I thought Hush Puppies were suppose to be high quality?

I would put Hush Puppies in the medium quality bracket.

I tend to buy (cheapish) trail shoes for everyday wear and I struggle to get near a year. Last year they were a pair of Timberlands and they lasted 9 months or so (I do tend to wear them most days though). Timberland are now off my list unless of course I get a really good deal.

With shoes you generally get what you pay for and a reasonable pair of shoes are now around a £100 at RRP. Church's are now £250 - £300!!

Just cross Hush Puppies off your list for the future.

I have always found Hush Puppy soles to be very soft. I would get about 6-9 months out of a pair, but I like them.

Just do not let a pair get to the back of your wardrobe and forget about them. I did this and found them after about 4 years - the soles had virtually disintegrated ???
