Tax rebate?

I am due a tax rebate, i submitted it on self assesment hmrc, under my old utr. I wasnt notified that i had been given a new UTR number after i was discharged.
Anyway, ive been told any tax rebate im due is going to go to the offial receiver, even though im discharged, and the tax i shouldnt have been paying before i went bankrupt, because i earnt under £8000 that year, is still going to be sent to them? Is this right considering ive been discharged since june 2013.
The tax return i filed was for the year april 2012 to april 2013.
If thats the case, what happens with the 13/14 rebate??

The tax rebate is for a period prior to discharge - that would go to the OR. Or am I misunderstanding your dates?AD March 2014

Well, i worked on APRIL 2012, MAY 2012, half of JUNE 2012, then i was made bankrupt on june 28 2012. The tax i paid in those months before i was bankrupt, should still be owed to me in my eyes, because i wasn't bankrupt until june 28th, and didnt work from then onwards until a month after i was discharged the following year, therefor had no repayment arrangements..0

My brain truly lacks the ability to deal with tax issues but someone who understands it all will be along soon - it may be worth putting your post on the tax forum as well?AD March 2014

Hi,
I am afraid that the IS has a right to claim all tax refunds for years prior to and including the financial year you go BR.
If you have an IPA in place for tax years after your BR any refunds will be seized as income via an IPA (unless you don't have enough money for your reasonable domestic needs)

The point is, i dont have any never had an ipa. So now theyre keeping hold of the 12/13 rebate, what will happen with the 13/14 rebate?
I started working after i was discharged, july 13 i started working, but i was discharged june 2013.
Surely they cant keep the 13/14 rebate too come april this year?0
