Hi, I have gotten myself into a bit of a mess with wonga and I am asking for help from other wonga users that have or have had a repayment plan with wonga.
I emailed wonga and told them I couldnt repay, they told me to wait until 3 days before my promise date and then fill out the form on their site stating my incomes and out goings, which I did. I then got to the end of the form and it said that I should repay £192 per month for 4 months plus an added £50 odd after. I currently owe around £850. I just dont have £192 to give them.
My question is , if you have had a repayment plan with wonga, have you been able to get a longer repayment period with less money per month?
I emailed wonga yesterday and again a few minutes ago, but it is my promise date on wednesday (2 days away!) So I am in a bit of a panic, I really dont want any more added on to this. So please please please, if you have done this, tell me what and how.

Have you phoned them? You'll probably get a quicker response.0

Have you tried cancelling the CPA with your bank? If not then I would try to do this ASAP.
When Wonga can no longer access the funds in your account they should be willing to accept a longer repayment plan at a rate you can afford.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -

Rachel - contact Stepchange. Their advice is free, impartial and can be life-changing. Please talk to them before going back to Wonga. Their advice (and that of the Citizens' Advice Bureau) helped me in my pickle with debts.

I havent cancelled CPA, but there is no money in my account and I dont have an overdraft facility, so they wont be able to take anything out. When asking for the repayment plan I made them aware that this was the case. So I am hoping when they realise theres no money to tak they will agree to what I can afford. Thank you.0 -
zx81 and DCFC79, no I havent tried phoning, anything I have read about payday sites since trying to set up the repayment plan has said not to. A lot of it said that emailing is a way to keep a record of what has been agreed. They could agree to do one thing over the phone and then not stick to it, at least if that happens when im emailing i will have a record to prove the argreement.
DCFC79, it was due to unforseen financial circumstances that got me into this situation, i'd be the first to admit that this isnt ideal but I didnt go into it knowing that this would be the outcome.0 -
Just call Wonga I had a lot of problems in the past owing them money, thankfully I got outta the trap, just ask them to take as much as you can afford on Wednesday they are the best of a bad bunch from what I can gather but I have never dealt with another PDL.
Good luck, just ring them."All truths are easy to understand once they are discovered, the point is to discover them."

What if your bank allows an unauthorised OD? Cancel the CPA as soon as you can.0 -
Cancel the payment, send them an email to tell them what you are doing and how much you can pay. Then set a payment up for that amount - they are an absolute nightmare and you will probably just get an email back to call them.
Just be aware though that they will default you although they may not do it immediately.0
