The question i am trying to get over is. My dentist who I see on an NHS (non benefits) basis. Has offered to do work privately, that he claims I need, by himself! As my NHS dentist, and because he is not refering me. Should he be offering treatment outside of his commitment to me as an NHS patient. As for my search for Dental officer. I am in search of a governing body. As I believe and other posts here suggest, My dentist is not acting strictly to his NHS obligation.??0

To make a complaint about NHS treatment you must first write to the practice with details of your complaint. They have to reply promptly and provide details (name and address) of how to escalate your complaint if you are not satisfied with their response. The next step is normally to write to your local health board/CCG etc the details of which the practice has to give you when you initially complain.http://www.nhs.uk/chq/Pages/1777.aspx?CategoryID=74&SubCategoryID=742 and http://www.nhs.uk/choiceintheNHS/Rightsandpledges/complaints/Pages/NHScomplaints.aspx
The dental complaints service (dcs) provides a similar service for private treatment.0
