can I keep money for working extra shifts?

I am an A and E staff nurse and am part of the nursing bank as well as my regular hours.
The bank keep ringing to offer me shifts ( we are all aware of nhs staff shortages, I imagine) but I am unwilling to work any extra shifts to my contracted hours if I am going to hand over that extra pay to the OR. I am torn because I want to help out, but don't want to work extra busy shifts for nothing...
If I just work the odd bank shift here and there and not on a regular basis, do you think I the OR would want the money?

If you are currently BR or in an IPA then you need to declare to the OR any extra income you receive. They will ask for the extra money if it is surplus to your needs.
Most people therefore don't work extra hours as it makes them no better off."Our prime purpose in this life is to help others. And if you can't help them, at least don't hurt them." Dalai Lama0 -
Do you have an IPA? If you do, then yes, it is likely that the OR will want more money.
But if you have been discharged without an IPA, then you can work as long as you want and not even tell the OR about it.0 -
am undischarged BR with NT IPA.0

"NT IPA" so the only IPA you are paying is the tax you would other be paying? So this will end in April?
If that is the case, then I would have thought it is worth your while waiting until you are discharged from bankruptcy without an IPA. Then you can start doing extra shifts.0 -
