Opinions of home DIY UV Gel Nail Systems please

i don't think you're on your own as i've seen a few similar comments on the sensationail facebook page.

i've been using gel polish for 3 months & mine are still ok, not 100% the same as before, but not far off. i don't buff before application any more & i get through gallons of cuticle oil! worth it though as it really does help with condition & strength (re: previous comments - i'm happy to carry on paying for CND solar oil too as i've got some pure almond oil & the consistency is completely different). i smacked my thumb nail end on into the car door the other day, really hurt but my nail is still in tact, sure it would have snapped right off if i hadn't got polish on.

i've got some gelish vitagel strength that i'll use next time instead of base coat, think you only need to use it every now & again. think sensationail have similar products in their range now too.

Thanks for the info in this thread I did buy all the bits a few months ago, got bored as it kept coming off really quickly. I've just purchased the sensationail kit and love it... just hope it lasts longer! A couple of colleagues already have the set and said it's fab!

I have a Phillips LED blu light for SAD - is this the same kind of light as for curing gel polish? I'd feel light a right muppet if I bought one of those kits and found I already had a light at home!

Think it's all about the light wavelengths, this article might help if you can find out the relevant spec. for your blu light. I'm guessing they might be very different, interesting question!
