I'm always surprised when I hear folks say they enter 100 plus a day. I find a lot of my time is used searching through the comps to find something I'm interested in. Some pages I don't enter any and just cross them all. Wonder if I'm going about it the right way, if I'm too choosy. Would love to be entering more but I just can't do it, even though I have 2 or 3 hours spare during the day or evening.

    Hey BFlying,

    I don't think that's being too choosy!

I just wondered if you had downloaded RoboForm? It is free (and safe) and I have found I can do shed loads more comps per free hour now I don't have to type my details out every time.

Re the original question I think it was a couple of months from starting before I had a win.

    Good luck!

  • Ive been comping pretty much since I joined this site, but no where near as religiously as some people - some weeks ill enter every day maybe 10-30 a day, then I might go a week or two not entering at all, just forget or whatever. Last June was my first big win, a dishwasher. It was totally unexpected because the dishwasher was a runner up prize to the main comp of "win a £5000 kitchen makeover" so it wasn't something that was even on my mind. When you've been doing it for so long that you forget what you've entered (apart from the ITV ones, no one can forget those surely :D ) then you will most likely get that phone call or email.

It is all for fun, the best part is imagining how awesome your life would be if you won that money/holiday/car etc, try and eneter some smaller comps (book, dvd's, toys etc) as well which you may have a better chance of winning, just to keep your morale up. Good luck!
  • It took me 6 months to get a win, but then I had a big one so was worth it. I definitely enter more now and more regularly so it may be to do with that or it may just be that it was my turn to be lucky. I'd say just keep doing it if you enjoy it and anything you do eventually win will be a brilliant bonus :)
    Win £2017 in 2017: £4/£2017 (1 wins)
Win 20 prizes of £17+ (Currently at 0)
    2016 - £1945 (40), 2015 - £3397 (60), 2014 - £2158 (43)

Really useful, although some prefer LastPass (?).

What I use Roboform for mainly:
    1) I can set up a profile so I click a button to enter the 'no thanks' boxes on the magazine dailies - see CompsAlex's Roboform thread about this at https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4201851
    2) Filling out my name and address on forms
    3) storing log-ins

It can also be used to set up a certain way of completing boxes for pages that you use to enter a regular competition.

Didn't think I really needed it, until I got it... Now couldn't be without it...

yes we have RoboForm. It is a brilliant tool. I wouldn't say it has transformed my comping...but it is certainly a handy tool. When I say "it hasn't transformed my comping", I meant I can type quite quickly, so it's not made a major difference. Great for storing passwords though on all those websites you have to join!
