End date to start date help.

Options
After 4 years of end date comping, today I have just gone through all 250 pages so I can comp by start date.

Whats the best way to continue? At the moment I subscribe to get an email with comps posted the day before, Is this the best way or Is It better to sort by thread start time at the end of every day and carry on from last entered comp?

Hope this make sense.
Good things come to those who comp:D

I find it easiest to click the "newest thread" link:
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=72&daysprune=-1&order=desc&sort=dateline

and start from page one, going back until I meet myself from the previous day.
  • Hey!

I was in the same boat as you comping by end date and a couple of weeks ago I cleared the boards too! now all i do is literally go by start date and work through all the competitions till i get to where i finished off. it is so much easier and quicker! now i won't have the end of the month panic! it also gives me more time to do the mag dailies.

Don't know if that answers your question or helps?!

That's what I used to do, except it was before we had the ticks and crosses which are now an enormous boon. I used to make a note of the "Last post" time and start at that point each evening, working my way to most recent / P1 . (Hope that makes sense :o?)

However, I used to get so far behind, (Especially if having Real Life fun :D  !) I now comp by end date and don't stress if I miss any.

There's always the danger too, that if you enter comps the minute that they're posted you will miss any that are picked up as dupes and enter twice and disqualify yourself, or you could enter ones that will be spotted later by more experienced members as SPAM producers.

I would enter via this first but work a few pages behind to allow for the issues mentioned by Barnabysue

Then mix it up every few days by using this so the more popular & ending soon comps may show up.

Just my view of course :-)
