Freelance Translator

Hi,
I was wondering whether any of you could help with the following.
I am currently working as a freelance translator via People per Hour. However I would like to see if I can gain a few more clients locally. Firstly I would like to advertise in local newspapers. Would I need to register somewhere in order to have my own website advertising these services?
Thanks
Kerstin

One of the best sites to register on as a freelance translator is proz.com. If you're wanting to do work locally, then perhaps contact some businesses directly, but many will outsource through agences.0
