Hi we have used Mortgage IQ Newtowards Road previously and went again last year, however our house sale fell through. She has kept in contact with us via e mail since as we our still hoping to sell. I still would go to a couple of places as they all may not have access to all mortgages available. Make sure you have at least 3 recent pay slips, any loans credit, utility bill and are on the electoral register.
Beware there our some Mortgage advisors that I would question the advice they give, when I bought my first property I had one that was going to get me a loan and mortgage at the same time, so I could purchase a property.... so glad I did not listen.
    Hope you get sorted

If your case is straight forward I wouldn't bother with brokers. You'll get a better rate on your own. No need to get pushed into buying expensive insurance products either.

    We use:

McDowell Financial Services. Really nice and friendly people, fill in all the forms for you and the mortgage deals they were able to get were better or matched what I was able to find on the internet. Mark in particular is a great guy who has saved two of my work colleagues a lot of money. Worth a go!

I second this from saverbuyer, shop around online, use a few price comparison sites, even pop in and see what your own bank has to offer, they can do a better rate of interest for existing customers.

IFA's work on commission and while I'm sure there are a few brilliant ones out there, there will also be the one's that will sell you what is best for them :o
I am trying, honest;) very trying according to my dear OH:rotfl:

Another agreement here. A family member was looking for a mortgage recently and the estate agent recommended their financial adviser. He messed about and tried to add another person to the mortgage without their knowledge. He got very uncomfortable with any questions asked about names of mortgage providers, interest rates, and things like that. Added to that, he was very rude.

I searched the internet and found a few good mortgage deals, and these were for a person who gets DLA, so a lot of lenders don't want to give a mortgage to anyone getting that. So if I can find mortgages to suit that situation, who needs a mortgage broker. Anything they can find, you can find yourself if you look hard enough. Spend a few hours online searching and it'll be worth it. Save your money on the commission you'd pay a broker, they get paid for nothing.
