If you are a Gold subscriber you get access to many services eg Xbox LIVE and 1 of the incentives to be a Gold subscriber is you get to download 2 free games a month (1 on the 1st till 16th and the second on the 16th of each month until 28th ), a link explaining it is here.

You can buy cheaper subscriptions from sites like cdkeys. You can also buy the subscription via Xbox LIVE (Console or PC but they may not be the cheapest ). I would suggest you buy a subscription based on a recommended rather than use a dodgy site and end up say £30 down and no subscription.

I was going to buy Sleeping Dogs soon in the future, but when I saw it was free :j

I also got DeadIsland, was interested in this when it came out, but I heard it got harder as you progress and not easy solo, so never bothered but as it was free I don't mind if I don't finish it.
