Any reasonable laptops £300-£400 (for my mum)

Hi, I'm looking for an ok laptop for my mum. She wants it mainly for internet use, nothing too complicated. Are there any good deals about?

Are you after a used or a new laptop? That kind of money would buy either an IBM/Lenovo T42/T43 if you shop around carefully, or an X31.

They're rather good machines that "just work", are very robust and should last for years.
  • Go for the Dell 1501, I have bought 3 in as many months, 2 with Vista, 1 with XP , XP FLIES on this as you would expect

Vista i smuch more resource hungry but pretty, for my mum? XP on the Dell
