I think I read somewhere that there are plans for 70K homes in the West Yorkshire belt. That's a fairly healthy expansion of the supply of homes up here in t'frozen North.

The problem is definitely London-centric. Perhaps there should be specific regional policy there, an agreement to allow moderate expansion out towards the M25 in some places? They would easily sell an additional 100K a year, never mind 26K. That's much needed revenue to the treasury, and homes to boot.

France a country of similar population has been building, and continues to do so, an average 400,000 homes a year. The UK needs to build a number close to that
