Cheer recruitment

Options
Cross-posting this with the Relationships board to try and get more ideas!!

Hi all!

Wondering if you delightful people could give me some help.

I run a small cheerleading squad, and as it happens at the moment we're having massive trouble recruiting! We recently had an open day and didn't get many takers, but I think that was partly due to the weather.

We have put posters up in the community centre we train in, local shops, supermarkets and the like, and I have put an ad on Gumtree, but I'm a bit stumped as to what else to do. I work full-time so can't really do school workshops.

Any ideas? We're based in the Newcastle area, just for info.

Are there any community events coming up that you could perhaps piggy back onto? My neice does highland dancing and she goes to local shows to perform or with a stall to raise awareness for her group. They tend to be more of a summer thing where I stay though due to weather.
  • Yep, we're booked for a couple in the summer and are hoping to cheer the Great North Run again :)
