Customs Duty on a DRESS HELP Please?

Hi

I am wondering if anyone can help me I have purchased a dress from Australia for $1695.00!! yes I know it was a treat!

But I have received a letter from parcel force advising my dress cannot be delivered due to a customs bill owed of £346 I do not even know if the dress will fit me - so I do not want to pay £346.00 just to try it on

If I ask Parcel force to send it back will the customs bills still stand - I don't want the retailer to deduct it from my refund? then I have paid of £346 and will not have anything to show for it?

Any help is much appreciated

Thanks
Bridget

I am trying to work out why someone would spend that amount of money for something 12,000 miles away and not even know if the item will fit.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

How do you know you'll get a refund anyway? I'm only curious of the law that applies to changing your mind, as I haven't bought from abroad.

  • They do give refunds as this is clearly stated on their website

Covered at the 4th link down?

You'll need to pay the import duty / VAT / handling fee first - but will be able to reclaim all (but the handling fee) if you return it.
