Hi all, just a quick question.

Our house was repossessed by the courts on December 10th. Today we received a letter from the courts/Bailiffs telling us the eviction date is to be February 12.

Now, seeing as we VS'd the property and handed the keys back to Nram back in Feb 2013, to which they have acknowledged and are aware the property is, has been vacant since - do we have to attend the old house on eviction day for any reason? It's not like it's our any more anyway!

This is just about the last big event to happen in our long BR journey. We don't really want to be there at the old house if we don't have to. We want to forget and crack on with life.

Many thanks.

Hi, You often answer your own questions! - Your right, no need to go, no reason to go, it's not your issue anymore.

  • Thank you DD. I thought that may be the case. I just wanted to get it confirmed by some one far more knowledgeable than myself!!

I suppose it's quite logical really. It was repossessed on the 10th, so it isn't our property any more.

I wonder how long it will take before Nram to try and bill me for repossession, court and eviction fees? ;)

  • I really don't think they expect the owner to be in attendance, they just have to give notice of bailiff possession as standard.

I didn't get the final calculation of the shortfall until the property was sold which was 5 months after the bailiffs went in. As you are BR you may not get anything although I appreciate we are talking NRAM here. They list absolutely everything so it is quite interesting (even office copies) although the team member that issued it rather let themselves down a tad by not knowing how to spell the word plumber.

You may also get a letter from their managing agents once possession has taken place but it is just another lot of correspondence to file.

I have to say now I am in my IVA post repossession all correspondence from them has stopped.
