Hi, Can anyone give me any help with dealing with credit solutions please, they are acting for Barclaycard which my husbands owes £2351.32 with and they have given him 14 days to pay the balance, we rang them last friday and asked if they would accept £80 a month by direct debit and they said no the only amount they would accept was £230 amonth which we cannot afford, my husband did make a £50 pound payment over the phone but they still insisted that the full amount was still to be paid in fourteen days, since then we have been bombarded with calls from then at least one a night all asking us what we are going to do, we always tell them the same £80 a month but they still say no.
Today we recived a letter from pwer2connect saying that they will be calling in the next few days as we have not been incontact with there arents regarding the debt, but we have, i rang barclaycard today and they didn,t want to know but did say that my husband could make the payment to them and they would tell credit solutuion but not by direct debit, things are getting so confusing we dont now what to do any advice would be realy helpfull as all this is not only putting my blood pressure up for which i take tablets for but my husband had a brakdown two years ago and i dont whant that to happen again, so any help would be greatfully received.

hi, when dealing with this company you do need to put it in writing because a phone call is not suffiecent proof of contact.
Have the company taken the £50 out of your account because it could be therefore be taken that you have formed a contract with the company and that they have accepted the £50.
You need to write a letter (send recorded delivery) that you can only afford £50 a month and send them a cheque with that amount. (make sure you keep copies)If they don't accept and take you to court, the judge will see your letters and see that you have made effort to pay. I think this company is using scare tactics.
Don't worry the company can not send balliffs round without a court order and if they continue to harrass you, tell them you will contact the police.
Go to your local cab because they have a good debt pack with template letters and they will be able to advise you further.
Don't let this stress you out, there is light at the end of the tunnel0 -
yes they have taken the £50 out of the account but still want more, would it be quicker to fax the letter to them keeping a copy and then send them the £80 when my husband get paid next week, as he is only paid monthly0

no send the letter recorded delivery, because they could deny recieving it. You could always say in your letter that you will pay £80 on a certain same date per month and give them the date when to first expect your first payment. Make sure you keep up with the payments and don't miss any. Are you sure you can really afford to keep paying £80 per month, maybe make a more realistic offer like £50 per month or less0

yes alwaysonthego, we have a credit agreement for a new sofa which finishes in september and my husband was just going to carry on payiing the 80 pound so that there is no extra money going out off the bank a month, as this was paid by direct debit it has always been paid on time and has been no bother at all.0
