Best cheap printer with cheap ink

Hi MSE'ers,
I need your collective help, my Canon MX700 needs a replacement part which is £70 (new print head).

My dilemma is there is no guarantee that the new print head will fix the problem and it's £70! This seems very expensive for a home printer.

I only need the printer for printing (colour not necessary) so I want to understand if buying a new printer will be cheaper than replacing the expensive print head. Keen to see if anyone's got any recommendations for printers they use that additionally have cheap ink.

Thanks for your help. Also I did a search but the other thread seem to be very old.

You can get a lazer for pretty small money these days.

Any brother DCP , they are good if you want multifunction

ricoh, oki & brother also do some cheap , yet very good mono lasers
