Credit files post BR

My partner and I declared ourselves BR in January 2010 after repossession. We were both auto discharged in Jan 2011. We've both checked our experience reports tonight by signing up for the free trial. We both have scores of 999 and a "very good" report. None of our previous creditors show. The only things under our creditors are our co-op bank accounts and our mobile phone contracts.
Very baffled by this. Partner has also checked Equifax and no mention there either.
Can anyone explain this? Am I missing something obvious? partner applied for capital one card for bad credit last week and was declined.

  • Not sure why your old creditors don't show, I went BR in 2009 and just did the same with Experian, all of mine still show, yet I have an excellent score of 971 which was a surprise to me too.

Incidentally I also got declined for the Capital One card, but accepted for Vanquis Bank who offer something similar - I am using this purely to improve my credit score and intend to spend small and pay in full every month.

My Equifax report is a little less impressive though, I am considered a risk on that one, so it would probably be worth checking that out too.

Have you given a complete address history for the last 6 years when ordering your reports? Incomplete or wrong address data is the most common reason for things not showing up.

  • It only asked for current address and one previous to that, which doesn't total 6 years. But it did have all our previous address on our report

Fermi is correct, you'll need to have all your previous address for the last 6 years. If you can't add your previous address online, you'll need to call them.
