I have received a CCJ from a county court. It is the right address for me but the name of defendant is not me. The name is very similar but spelt incorrectly. Can I dispute the claim as the name of the defendant is wrong?

Is it your debt but with the CCJ under a wrong name? Or not your debt at all?Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

The most you can probably expect would be to get the name on the judgement amended as far as I know.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

They take a practical approach, and are likely to just amend your name details.

This is not the same as getting a PCN with an incorrect VRM. You will no doubt have received earlier (pre-judgement) mail, so the time to dispute and seek rectification (or repudiation) is before the decision is reached as to liability.0

The company that I took the contract out with also have my name wrong from the beginning. Is this still technically a technicality? Can I dispute that the contract is not mine?0

I have also never received any pre-judgment mail....!0
