BR today

Hi all,
Just thought I'd let you know my experience today for those still waiting or thinking about BR- I say 'just do it' and don't worry at all.
I cannot believe how easy it is and I don't like to use that word but it is. I had worried about it for so long and worried about going on my own, how would I feel, how would people treat me, would I get spoken down to, looked down on....well not at all.
The guy who dealt with me was the lovliest person ever, very nice, calming and reassuring, could not have asked for anything more. He explained everything to me. My appt was at 12, by 12.45 all forms were completed, money taken and oath sworn on bible. He even took me to a reception desk that was not marked insolvency!! so I didn't even stand out as being made BR.
Then he explained that I would see the judge for about 5-15 mins...it was very quick 5 mins and he was lovely. Officially BR. he said i would prob have to wait till 1.45 but five mins later I was sat with the judge-he managed to swing it earlier...wow!
Then 15 min wait after seeing judge before speaking on phone to OR, lovely woman very nice, went through a few things and arranged for another phone call in about 2-3 weeks. I asked about keeping a bank account open she said yes...no prob as long as ok with bank as I was allowed to keep one card and one account!! Yippee...I asked about car...she stated well as long as you are seeking work (which I am...was made unemployed 1 month ago...am pregnant and due to go on maternity leave in October) but as long as I was seeking work, considering it was only worth less than £1000 I more than likely could keep...yippee 2 getting better. Then 15 mns later everything over for now, all debt (46K) gone, The nightmare which I thought it would be over and new life with my lovely children and new baby on way beginning. I've been so worried sick since xmas trying to figure how to sort things out result of stupid divorce settlement leading to me offering to take on lion share of joint debt! as had well paid job, then death in family and illness which led to losing job and lack of money.
But hopefully now things are on mend, Have lovely new bloke in life who all going well september we should be getting married and moving in together and little baby due in December-xmas baby.
So to all who are worrying at this mo...start looking forward to your new starts..good luck all! xx

    Glad it went well,
The first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter :(
