How will this affect me?

Hi

My OH might be getting a forced bankrupcy put upon him, my questions are as follows:

1) would he be allowed to travel so he can come and see me (we live about 100 miles apart) in his allowance

2) would be be allowed enough to visit his son (a flight away in scotland)

3) would he be allowed to make contributions to me, I shouldered part of his debt and at the moment he pays me as he couldnt get one in his name.

4) he is halfway through a divorce and only waiting on one last court case and a decision on the money, anyone know if he can carry this on or what affect the bankrupcy would have?

He would have the scottish version of a bankrupcy, im not sure what the main difference are though.

Anyhelp would be appreciated

Your situation isn't as straightforward as some and you really need to take professional advice. CCCS, National Debt Line and CAB are all charities who don't charge for their services; their advsiors are professionally trained and offer advice that in your best interests. They'll also be able to advise on how Scottish bankruptcy is different to England and Wales.

Thought I recognised your moniker and remembered your original thread. Did you parents end up acting as guarantor?

Others will know more but I am not sure that he would be allowed anything in his SOA towards informal debt payments, if he gets to make IPA (Individual Payment Arrangement).

You need proper advice, so contact the debt charities above ASAP.
