in Cutting tax
What does this mean:
Our records show that your 2012-13 PAYE Notice of Coding includes an adjustment for tax underpaid.
Underpaid tax for 2012-13 included in your tax code for 2013-14: £ 0.00
If this figure is not correct, select 'No' and you will be given a chance to amend it below.*
I don't seem to be able to jump over this entry or explain why HMRC is in muddle.
(Firstly, I did not receive one of my two notices of coding, but I looked it up on line: I receive two modest "company" pensions and a last minute attempt in my retirement year was made to put one of the two onto BR.
But of course the last two months pension was not enough to make up the BR coding for the year. The nub of the problem is that HMRC has assumed that I am claiming state pension when I am not doing so)
ERROR: There is 1 error on this page. 'Please tell us why this figure is different to the one we quoted...' can only contain alpha, numeric and the following special characters: ' ( ) * , - . / & @ £. The enter (or return) key located on your keyboard is not accepted. Please amend.
How one clears this error message escapes me.

Select YES, that should clear the error.
Now has HMRC included in your code number any amounts for a previous period?
From what you say this is unlikely, progressThe only thing that is constant is change.0 -
