Does anyone have a good idea for cleaning a TV screen. My other half decided to put polish on it ( he never polishes anything!!!) and now it is all smeary and not sure how to get it off. Hope someone can come up with some useful advice.

    Hi caringa

Can you tell us exactly what polish was applied because it will help with the removal suggestion.

I use a dry microfibre cloth on my LCD television screen and it removes the dust and doesn't smear. You might want (to tell your other half) to use that method in the future.

I'll move this thread to the 'Old Style' board, where the cleaning experts will see it.

You know the 'polishing cloths' that you get with spectacles? well, if you dampen one slightly and rub it all over the screen then quickly polish with kitchen roll you get a clean smear free screen. and it doesn't harm the plastic surface.

For general smears and sticky finger marks on the tv screen I have successfully used computer screen wipes. Don't know whether they would work on polish but, if all else fails, worth a try. I get mine in Poundland.
